About ImageTo3DFree

Last updated: 2026-09-24

ImageTo3DFree is a free web service that turns a single photo into a 3D model or a cartoon-style voxel build, together with a library of plain-language guides that explain how the technology works and how to get good results from it.

Why this site exists

Making a 3D model used to mean learning modelling software for months. Recent generative AI models can now infer the shape of an object from a photograph, which makes 3D accessible to people who only need a quick asset: a game developer who wants a prop for a prototype, a hobbyist who wants to print a figure of a family pet, a teacher who wants a model for a lesson, a designer who wants a blocky voxel character.

The trouble is that most tools in this space hide the details. They give you a button and a result, but not the understanding of why one photo works and another does not, what a polygon budget means, or which file format your 3D printer expects. We wanted to build the tool and also write down what we learned while running it, so that visitors leave with something useful even if they never upload an image.

What the service does

How it is built

Jobs enter a queue and are processed one at a time, in order of arrival, so that every visitor gets a fair turn; the site shows your position and an estimated wait. The 3D shape generation is based on the open Tencent Hunyuan3D-2 model family, used under its community license. ImageTo3DFree is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Tencent.

Because of that license, the generation tools are not offered in the European Union, the United Kingdom or South Korea. The guides on this site are readable from anywhere.

Who runs it

The service is operated by Kepler Yazılım ve Bilişim Teknolojileri San. Tic. Ltd. Şti., a software company. You can reach us through the contact page.

Our editorial approach

The guides are written by our team from hands-on experience running an image-to-3D service and working with the resulting files in common tools. We explain trade-offs rather than promise perfect results, and we say plainly when the technology falls short: AI-generated models can have inaccurate backs, blobby fine detail, or thin parts that will not print. If you find a mistake in a guide, tell us and we will correct it and update the date at the top of the page.

Guides that mention third-party products (Blender, Unity, Godot, slicers, MagicaVoxel) do so because they are commonly used with these file formats. We have no sponsorship or affiliate arrangement with any of them.

Responsible use

Only upload images you have the right to use, and read our terms of use and our guide on copyright and AI-generated 3D models before using results commercially.
